Funeral Held For NY State Senator Jose Peralta

 

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The funeral for Jose Peralta, the first Dominican-American member of the New York state senate, was held Tuesday morning. Read more here
Jose Peralta was the first Dominican-American member of the New York state senate who passed away at a young age of 47 on the eve of Thanksgiving. There was no release of the official cause of his death although his widow said that he’d been feeling ill for some time. Peralta had represented Queens’ District 13 since 2010 but was beaten out by Jessica Ramos in the Democratic primary back in September. His funeral was held on Tuesday morning, November 27, 2018, at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Heights. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, and two sons.

 


Brooklyn Bridge in New York, NY
